The most recent exhibition by Yunier Tamayo Sánchez.
“Rhetorical space” the most recent personal exhibition of Yunier Tamayo Sánchez was inaugurated in the city of Bayamo, province of Granma, Cuba.
The set amounts to 12 paintings, including a polyptych, made during this summer, which flood the rooms of the Provincial Plastic Arts Center of this Cuban city.
Although the creator does not renounce the investigative principles that have supported his work throughout his career, at a formal and conceptual level, a profound transformation is experienced in the abstract language that characterized him. The curator of the exhibition, Danelys Gómez Pompa, points out how Tamayo “has been decanting visual efectivism from the baroque to the gestural”.
In effect, the creator has gotten rid of the usual codes to find a balance between pictorial and par – textual elements with a particular calligraphic load in some cases; while in the others, the color remains as the sole protagonist of the canvas.
As an artist, he has already entered the maturity that involves the synthesis and expeditious selection of content and expressive resources, helped this time not only by the theories of Situations, but also by the study of mass psychology and critical analysis the concept of “No place” by Marc Augé.
Artecru presents to the followers of painting and abstraction a representative sample of the trajectory of this contemporary creator.
