This is more recent exhibition of Julio César García Martínez.

El Reino de este mundo“, homonymous title to that novel of the Cuban writer’s Alejo Carpentier, it is the last personal exhibition of Julio César García Martínez.

Inaugurated in the Genesis Gallery of Matanzas city, Cuba; the exhibition composes 11 pieces of 61 x 40 cm with the impression on cardboard technique.

In these photogram’s the faces of same number of people are represented, with the particularity that their ages understand between the 60 and the 85 years.

Neither the time neither the life have stopped for these men and women (traveling salespersons, musical composers recognized in some moment, town people; of the popular thing and the social etc.) that unintentionally to be it became in models and the time in the conductive thread of a visual and conceptual speech from the codes of the picture; at the same time that they demonstrate as much as he has left to live in the territory of this Kingdom.

According to the creator of these instantaneous: “My proposal still in creation process, it comes closer to the real thing wonderful of some local characters that they alter the reality and they take it to superior planes. All come out day by day to be won the sustenance in a special way. They transform the reality, they illuminate it, they enlarge it and everything thanks to an exaltation of the spirit that leads them to a way of state limit.”

The employment of the light that impregnates him a great dramatic load and a point overcomes us to when the cinema was in white and black, the explicit of the poses as connotation element and the excellent composition they are some of the elements that invite to think to conquer the temporary and psychological barriers and this way enabler the maxim “that we all were born with a purpose”, without caring that the prints of the step of the time mark our body.

In the words of the catalog the grateful theater director Rubén Darío Salazar expressed: ” with this exhibition Julio Cesar countersigns José Martí sentence when he wrote “What light the one that emerges of a age face! “, at the same time that it transforms it into art, and all art, as many we know, it sometimes makes happy and other simply he shivers.”

The photographic exhibition will be open to the public until next day September 30th  in this cultural and expositive space located in the foundational area of the city and declared National Monument.
