Draw me the way I put the stain
The House of the Young Creator of Manzanillo (Cuba), hosts under this title and since Friday, August 9th, the personal exhibition of Katerine de la Paz Herrera, young artist and president of the municipal headquarters of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), which through their own hands and the palette knife technique she finds every day on the canvas new motifs and forms of expression capable of attracting the most sensitive public.
The exhibition consists of nine pieces of medium and small format, made with acrylic; eight of them of recent creation, plus the work entitled “Distrust of the water”, of its previous stage culminated with the sample “States of the soul” (2017), with which the museographic tour begins.
This time, there is a transitional moment in which fresh aesthetic-compositional findings coexist with visual elements whose memory can be traced to pieces of the year 2014 and ideas stored in sketchbooks or in the creative imagination itself. Some case shows even in texture the influence of engraving in the initial years of his career.
Her work is permeated by a powerful chromatic sense of marked expressionist spirit and delicate poetry, which paradoxically finds in the lonely landscape the metaphor capable of undressing the life of a romantic soul. The titles are articulated almost like verses of a text – image, integrated in a way that exceeds the limits of the function.
The public can learn about the plastic discourse of Katerine de la Paz through her profile in the Artecru`s community.
