“Starting point”, mixed media (14 x 10 cm).

The Small Format Biennial opens its doors on December 4th in Camagüey city, Cuba; with the objective of promoting the works of plastic arts framed in this type of dimensions, at the same time as it constitutes a confluence space for various pictorial discourses.

Among the creators participating in the event is Iván Carbonell, Machuty, with his piece “Starting point” executed in mixed media (14 x 10 cm). A work that constitutes a clear allusion to dance art, especially ballet.

Composed of an iconography focused on simple visual and structural elements, together with the use of various shades of gray, it has an understandable message for the viewer.

With “Starting point” its creator recreates a pictorial theatricality very characteristic of his artistic work through illusory elements and genuine emotions.

A selection of the creator’s work can be found in the creative community of Artecru.
