The exhibition was inaugurated today at the emblematic Pharmaceutical Museum.
“Children of coal”, the most recent exhibit by the creator Jorge J. Gutiérrez Salomón, was inaugurated in the emblematic Pharmaceutical Museum, located in the historic center of the city of Matanzas.
The exhibition comprises a total of 9 pieces, made during the trip of the creator to Haitian lands, in which the protagonists were the inhabitants of Ojú Comers or Delma17th Street of that nation.
The artist focuses his attention on the cultural, religious and ethnographic elements of the diaspora that Caribbean nation.
From his worldview, the author of these pieces uses the combination of acrylic and charcoal on damask to offer as a final result pictorial compositions full of symbolism, references and meanings. Thus he develops a bond between the spectators and his work.
A selection of his work is within the creative suggestions proposed by Artecru.
