Plastic arts student wins prize in the “Roberto Diago” Salon

Alejandro Pons won the prize awarded by the Cuban Association of Artists in the XXIV edition of the Visual Arts “Roberto Diago” Salon 2018.

With the title “The eyes of the Canary”, the young creator showed a José Martí through a different perspective. Not planimetry in terms of surface; but by means of elements to relief that show that no human being is perfect and that all possess virtues and defects.

Through the use of a mixed technique and with variable dimensions, he manages to represent an important figure for the history and culture of Cuba from a very particular perspective, both as a person and as an artist.

The new artist graduates this year from the Provincial Academy of Plastic Arts of the city of Matanzas. It also belongs to the Artecru catalog.
