The creator won this award on Thursday night.

Adrián Socorro, plastic artist, won the Creation Grant with his work “The Nap” in the “Roberto Diago” Salon, inaugurated in the city of Matanzas.

The piece, an acrylic on canvas of 170 x 120 cm, provokes the spectator to think about his existence and the ability to dream of human beings.

The figure – background relationship is a fundamental element in the proposed composition. The employment in great proportion of the white reinforces the oneiric character of man as a social, biological and psychological being.

With a consolidated professional career, the creator is presented with a mixture of apparent tranquility combined at the same time by constant creative and aesthetic concerns.

A selection of his paintings can be found in the Artecru gallery.
